If you've searched for the best Wasp bands, you're probably after one of two things: which Wasp latex to buy, or which bands to put on your Wasp frame. I'll cover both in plain English. I hand-cut and tie Wasp Candy and Wasp AK Velocity here in Cheshire, so this is what I see on the bench and on the range, not marketing.
The short answer
Want smooth, forgiving and all-season? Go for Wasp Candy.
Want speed and snap, and don't mind replacing bands sooner? Go for Wasp AK Velocity.
Whichever you pick, match the band thickness to your ammo. That matters more than the brand.
Wasp Candy: the smooth all-rounder
Candy is a smooth band to shoot and it works all year round. It isn't the fastest latex I sell, but it's easy on the hand and forgiving, which makes it a good choice for learning, practice and long sessions.
The Candy sizes I cut:
0.5mm, 18-12 taper: 7mm steel or 9–11mm clay
0.6mm, 20-15 taper: 8mm steel
0.7mm, 20-15 taper: 9.5mm steel
Wasp AK Velocity: the fast one
Velocity is a fast, snappy band, quicker than Candy. The trade-off is that the extra speed costs some band life, so expect to change your bands more often.
The Velocity sizes I cut:
0.45mm, 18-12 taper: 7mm steel or 9–11mm clay
0.5mm, 18-12 taper: 7mm steel
0.7mm, 20-15 taper: 9.5mm steel

Candy vs Velocity at a glance
Feel: Candy is smooth. Velocity is snappy.
Speed: Velocity is the quicker of the two.
Band life: Candy lasts longer. Velocity trades life for speed.
Best for: Candy for practice and all-round shooting. Velocity for shooters chasing speed.
Match the thickness to your ammo
This is the bit most people get wrong. Thinner latex goes with smaller ammo: roughly 0.5mm for 7mm steel, 0.6mm for 8mm and 0.7mm for 9.5mm. Heavier bands don't automatically shoot harder. With light ammo, heavy rubber wastes its energy and gives you hand slap. Shoot bands matched to your ammo, not to your ego.
Which bands fit a Wasp frame?
Wasp make a lot of frames with band clamps. Any flat band set tied OTT or TTF will fit clamp frames and wrap-and-tuck frames, and fork gap doesn't matter. My sets are sent tied OTT as standard. For TTF, a different taper or longer bands, just use the note box at checkout and include your draw length.
Other bands worth a look
If you want to step up from Wasp latex, Snipersling is the premium latex in my range, in Yellow (lightest draw), Green and Black (heaviest draw). If you prefer natural latex, SlingTing Ghost White gives a smooth, even draw. Browse all my catapult bands.
Not sure which to pick? Tell me your ammo and draw length in the checkout note and I'll cut to suit.
